Illustration is my passion!

I’m Lorna, an independent illustrator based in the highlands of Scotland. I create illustrated wall prints for nurseries, baby rooms and children’s spaces, from bold alphabet prints to personalised portraits, designed to feel at home in real, lived-in rooms.

Every piece starts with my own drawings and colour work, developed slowly and intentionally rather than to follow trends. I make work that feels playful, retro, graphic and stylish enough to live with as children grow.

Made to grow with children

Children’s rooms change quickly. Interests shift, colours come and go, furniture is moved around. I design prints that don’t feel tied to a single age or phase, so they can stay on the wall as tastes evolve.

My alphabet prints are designed as graphic anchors within a room whilst my personalised portraits are fun and playful capturing a simple likeness in a timeless way.

The intention is always longevity. These are prints made to live with you for years, not just a season.

How the work is made

All artwork is illustrated by me in my studio here in the highlands of Scotland. Colour, design and paper stock are considered carefully so that each print sits perfectly alongside books, toys, and the everyday happenings of family life.

To make ordering simpler and more reliable for customers around the world, I work with a small network of trusted printing partners in the UK, Europe, the USA, Canada, and Australia. This means your print is produced as close to you as possible, helping to reduce delivery times, customs delays, and unnecessary tariffs.

Prints are produced on heavyweight, archival-quality paper with a soft matt finish. Framing is kept simple so the artwork feels part of the room rather than the focal point competing with everything else.

Personalised Portraits

My portraits are created using a set of carefully designed options rather than working directly from photographs. You can choose from a range of themes, hairstyles, colours, and details to create a likeness that feels close enough while remaining illustrated and timeless.

The process is simple, with clear options, gentle guidance where needed and a focus on creating something that feels personal and special to you.

For real homes

My work is made for real homes, not showrooms. For walls that change over time, and rooms shared by siblings or updated as children grow older.

Many of my prints are photographed in customers’ homes so you can see how they live in context. These are everyday spaces, used and enjoyed, not styled sets. Follow my instagram for more interiors inspiration @lornafreytag

A small studio, worldwide homes

Although I’m based in Scotland, my work lives in homes across the UK, the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia. Each order is carefully printed and packed by the closest printing partner, then sent directly to you.

This approach keeps things efficient and dependable while allowing me to remain a small, independent maker focused on the work itself.

I keep my collection intentionally small, focusing on well-designed pieces rather than constant newness (but i do add new letter options now and again so keep checking back or sign-up to my newsletter for updates) Every print is something I’m proud to put my name to.

If you’re looking for children’s artwork that feels thoughtful, personal, and designed to last, you’re very welcome here.
